Meet the Staff

Ellie McCombie-EYFS Teacher and Manager

Hi my name is Ellie McCombie and I am the Early Years Teacher and Manager at Kings Stanley Playgroup.  I live in Coaley, near Dursley and have 2 adult daughters called Lauren and Alice.

I am passionate about working with early years children and supporting them to make the progress they deserve and need ready to start school.  It has been proved that learning through play, with active, engaging and relevant activities provides the best and most consistent results for this age group.  I enjoy the team feel of planning such activities with other early years professionals, so that we can come up with ideas together, that we know our children will enjoy and learn from.

I gained Qualified Teacher Status in July 2007, following a four year primary teaching degree at the University of the West of England in Bristol.  My degree specialism was Early Years so I have received in depth training on how to teach and support children within the Early Years age group and how the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum relates to this.  I also have many years’ experience of teaching children using the Early Years Framework both in schools and in children’s centres in Gloucestershire.

Kings Stanley is a beautiful village and very close to where I live.  I feel excited by the challenges that being the teacher and manager at the playgroup will bring. Although there is obviously a lot to do, being able to create a playgroup that best serves the local community is a unique and inspiring opportunity and I am very much looking forward to meeting you all and your children when it reopens!

Julie Wynn-Level 3 Practitioner

Hi, my name is Julie Wynn

I live in Nailsworth and bought my children up in Coaley, I have 3 lovely grownup children and 2 lively grandsons aged 9 and 6yrs. I was an accredited Childminder as my children grew up and our home was always full of children, fun and laughter.

I am NNEB qualified with over 40yrs of experience working in childcare and my experience has taken me down many different paths. I have run many playgroups and been a Room Supervisor in a Children's Centre. I've also been a Private Nanny to many families nurturing their children from birth to school and beyond. I have kept in touch with most of my charges and it is wonderful to watch them grow.

I am now looking forward to joining this new team to reopen King Stanley Playgroup and to meet you all and welcome all the children.
